Fruits of our Labor!

This is our former small brick patio. It was not fun getting down on my hands and knees to pick out weeds between those bricks. So during our "girls weekend" at my Aunt's we talked about a vegetable garden. We kicked the designs around and around and then it hit me. Rip up the bricks and make it there!!!

Over 4 hours I have my very first garden. In the back row I planted cucumbers and tomatoes. I figured I could use the lattice as a "anchor" to tie up the plants as they grow. The next row I planted sweet banana peppers and a row of arugla (my all time favorite). The next row carrots and green peppers. The first nasteriums and green peppers. I am so thrilled it looks so nice.

My Aunt and I believe that we all have a Guardian Angel. We also believe that Angels are among us everyday! I received these wonderful angels as a Christmas Gift from my staff. What a great place to put them. They will "bless" us and our summer harvest of veggies.

Remember the bird lady in Mary Poppins? Well I have one in my garden. She holds birds in either hand.

And then there is the foreman............

Meet my foreman Bentley Scarsborough. In August he will be 3 years old. What a great companion. He has so much personality and fun to have around. He follows me everywhere. He is telling me: "Mommy I promise I won't step into your new garden nor dig in it" "Sure, we will see about that buddy".
