First Craft Show

We have worked on our display for our first upcoming craft show. If you are in the area.
Come out and say hello. September 12th 2009 9am-3pm. Ephrata, PA Arts and Craft Show. They close down Main Street (Route 322) for several blockes and fill the streets and some side streets with vendors. This year restaurants will also be showing off what they have to offer.
We are praying for lovely weather.

The display is keeping with our theme of the Beach!!! How beautiful. Of course, all our earrings are still in bags and we just got an idea of how we want to set up.

Barb, many years ago, worked as a window dresser for a large department store in Lubbock, Texas before she became a mom. She really has a great eye for design!
Well, I must run and continue making more jewelry.

Sorry we've been gone so long

You know we just don't have enough hours in a day or a month! The last few weeks have been so busy with having beading retreats at Barb's house the last few weekends. This last time my Mother,Pat joined us and we had a great time. We even where able to keep my mother up until 3:30AM! Yes, I said AM. We put her to work organizing our beads and findings in our containers and she had fun. We joked that she could not get workers compensation due to no sleep, tired fingers or a sore butt!!! We did not have insurance for folks over 60 years of ago we laughed and laughed. It's always a great time when the three amigo's get together. We also worked on our upcoming show on September 12th on the streets of Ephrata, PA The display took some time yet, we came up with a few thoughts.

Busy Fingers

Barb and I are busy making jewelry because we just got word that we have been accepted to Ephrata's Street Art's and Craft's Festival in September. So we are busy, busy, busy. Now, we are still waiting for the go ahead from the ABWA Ephrata Craft Show in November. With the possibility of 2 craft shows this year we need to make jewelry in our sleep! Therefore,
each night after work I come home, have a nice quiet dinner with my husband, Jeff, then while we watch our favorite baseball team, The Phillies!!! Go Jayson Werth!!!! I sit and make earrings.

As usual, I have jumped into yet another craft!!!! I am so well rounded. Ha Ha.

But really look at all the precious gem stones, glass beads and more to design. Just like life. We have so many things to chose from and so many things in our life that are precious to help us design our life--Our higher power, you may call it God, Mother Earth, or The Universe, husbands, wives, grandchildren, parents and friends. May you design your life well.

How do you get sales?

Ok, How do you advertise? That's the question of the day! My Dad, the thinker......the realist one....the pain in the butt.....the one you say to yourself "Gosh, why did I not think of that?" person, said to my aunt and I the other week. "So, Ladies how are you getting people to know you are on Etsy and selling items". Oh we said, "Well we have lot's of business cards." Oh wonderful, and who in the world are you going to see gets the cards?" he said with a small little smirk on his face. Well that gots us to thinkg. Hmmmmmm.


Do not fear. I suggested to my Barb ( that's the B in BLT) that we should get into one craft show a few month's prior to Christmas. In my town, we have a few large shows. I can see if we can get in to one of them. Barb was in agreement. See what you can do. I wasted no time and searched and searched and Ladies and Gentleman........Drum roll.........Today I came home from visiting my grandchildren, checked my emails and was surprised to find a application to the ABWA (American Business Womens Association) craft show being held in my home town of Ephrata!!!!! Well, I will be calling Barb in the morning....get the information filled out and pray long and hard that we get accepted and then work our fingers to the bone in designing earrings and necklaces.

Making some changes

Since our Artist weekend, my aunt has been selling a few of her earrings and necklaces at the bookstore in Dewey where she works. As well as, designing more jewelry. I, on the other hand have spent the last few weeks not feeling very healthy. I have had some health issues but, things are improving. I think we have things under control with medication and some life style changes. That's why I have not posted much since I have felt very sluggish. But, look out world I am back and feeling fantastic!!

My aunt came to visit so we could celebrate her birthday this past July 4th. We shopped, ate, laughed and rested. The time just goes so fast. You start your day around 11am and then someone says "Hey, its time to eat it's 7:30pm!! We always have fun. Family is so important to us and we love each other so much. She loved her gifts; two Hallmark movies. Candles on Bay Street and Loving Leah, coffee cup with a beautiful saying, gift certificate to Barnes and Noble and hand made dish cloths that I knitted for her.

She then decided to encourage me to start making earrings and add some to our Etsy site. So why not, what's one more craft to learn. For now this will be the craft of the month. That's what some of my family and friends say about me. I jump from one craft to another. Keeps life interesting right? Don't you love to make things interesting in your life. The same routine everyday is BORING. Mix it up. Life is a Journey travel it well!!!
